My Sorrow to Dr.Ing Fauzi

On last wednesday (13/08/08), while on the way back with Ming Yaw and companies, i met Dr.Ing. I greeted him and started our conversation. I asked him what subjects he was teaching at this moment, but in shock he replied that he was not teaching anything, and said that because of us...

Apparently, he was in sad mood, because he was asked and questioned to explain regarding to a report lodged against him. Expressed in a gloomy way, he urged us to "smack" the person who should be responsible of making such report. He added that we complained tutorial was hard but when final was easy, no one gave him credits. At last, he shook our hands friendly....

Throughtout the conversation, my heart was melted same as my friends who were aside..This is because i do not think he did anything wrong even though i found it difficult to understand in his lecture. In contrast, I enjoyed the process and progress because I like group discussion. He was doing his work well, i give him thumbs up for his contribution to me.

Please stop complaining about lecturers, we do not have any qualification to do so. Do measure ourself before taking any actions. If you encounter any problems, please refer to them or our coursemates, we would be readily to show our hand.

Cheers,
Candle

i m touoched with your view. What u said is true about him.

Is it possible that we do somthing set the situation right? Since 'we' start the complain, we have to end it if we found it is not true.

Actually, we are responsible as we didn't try to stop the one who do the complaint.

All this is seems like unfair to Dr, Fauzi. Other than regret, can we do more?

dear Mai,

i attended the class of Dr Fauzi and i know some of the students didnt agree with the style of the teaching. i understand that.
fauzi is the person who not easily offended. anyway, if you could suggest him a better teaching style, he will be more than happy to listen.
i look at this problem in a different angle.

1. the students agreed to complain since the tests and tutorials were difficult.
2. suddenly, the final exam was darn easy and many scored A.
3.guilt engulfed the students, unfortunately the report has reached the ears of the TDA.
4.of course we blamed the one who made the report.

allow me to suggest something?
what has done, cannot be undone and the damage is there and we have move on, dont regret but i would say we take lesson from this doing. i do not oppose if any of you want to complaint and even you can complaint about me to the TDA/Dean if you feel i didnt deliver up to the department's expectation.it is your right since most of you pay to the varsity. what you need is may be talk to the lecturer, perhaps you could go in a group rather than complaining straight to the TDA/Dean.if there is no change, then take another step ahead.
this is only my suggestion. as i mention before, i am not opposing any of you action (please disregard things i said in the class). i hope you will do well in your microprocessor test 1.

I think most of us have experience with different kinds of teachers. Every teacher has different teaching method. Some are popular teachers, some are strict, some are friendly and much more.

But what students can do about the teachers is to adapt their way of teaching.

I had bad grades during 1st test n tutorial. My group was struggling and we did whined about it.

i never thought some people would make a complaint and suddenly, Dr. Ing Fauzi went into problem.

i feel sorry for him as i didn't expect this thing to happen.

i think we can come out with an appeal to help him out.

Sorry for leaving the comment late due to some technical problems. But i had observed mai's blog for a period of time and i have some opinion about the tragedy happened to Dr.Fauzi.

I am being the course rep for ECC3002 for a semester and i feel that Dr.Fauzi is kind of lecturer that likes to joke and talk around with his students. From his character's aspect i think he is a good lecturer. But the day Mai and me meet him, he didnt mention many things instead we really can sense the sound of disappointed in his talks.

We cant deny that Dr Fauzi is not so good in teaching mathematic subject. But he maybe good in teaching other subjects. Addition i think that he already do his best to teach us for last semester.

Now, it is not time to blame the person who go and report Dr.Fauzi. What can be do is just dont repeat this so call "SILLY" action which always tends to go and report the lecturers. Just accepts your lecturer and try to suite and adapt yourself to his teaching methods.

p/s: when you try to blame someone by pointing your finger towards him, there is 4 more fingers pointing you back. Ask yourself, last semester did you try or even do your best to cope and learn all the syllabus in ECC3002? Ask yourself?Yet the questions in final exam didnt include all sylllabus and you still manage to get an A's for that course. pls appreciate what you get from him.

What I wish to say is that, I hope Dr.Fauzi could see this, that his students still care a lot about him.
